Week 2: Writing Your Resume For the Gig

Here we go again! So I tried to Jobscan my resume about two more times before I was all out of trails. While trying to stay true to myself and my acquired skills without fabricating, I made the changes of asked from my instructor. Just to find out I would still receive a 20% match on both tries to the job description I had chosen for myself. Looking over my Jobscan report I thought I caught everything that might have needed to change, but after taking a closer glimpse at my hard skills results I realized that some of the words I had listed literally meant the same or even represented the same meaning but wasn’t the EXACT word the job description used. Frustrated? Just a little, I really thought the second copy and paste I fixed all my errors. Before I had 2 pages not even full but I made sure I corrected that. I also saw in the results that I was missing the job title but I purposely put that in my objective but I feel like I didn’t do it effectively and so that’s why it goes without being noticed. Towards the end I noticed a section of missing measurable results, again I want to tweak but I don’t want to fabricate. Unfortunately, I still have some work to do before I reach 80%.
